The last page

The smell of something quaint,
In the wee hours of the night,
A mug of steaming drink
To keep you warm and light.
With every flip and pause,
The night grew quiet and dark
Minutes turned to hours
But nothing could make you stop.
You lived in hills and houses,
From a time unknown,
And met a few along
To call them friend and foe!
The most dreaded moment,
Is now at your finger’s tip
But, how will you face the world
After that final flip?
Your eyes turn moist with love,
For the ones, you hardly met
And the heart turns a little heavy
As you reach the ending lines!
The time has now come
To bid them all goodbye,
But how do you really part,
When they leave with a piece of you!

Note:

Hola amigos! How you doin’? The hardest part of reading any book is to close the book after the last page and face the real world again, don’t you all agree? It’s such a bittersweet feel. If there’s any book out there that you want the whole world to read but also wouldn’t share them with anybody (Yep, I know that feel), do drop them in the comments, I would love to read.

Also, my blog just hit 500 followers. I can’t believe my eyes!! It didn’t happen overnight, I do know. It took me three years to reach 50 followers, so all the newbies out there, just hold on! Though I believe in the number of views than all the likes and follows (only 10% of my followers even view my content, the rest are just dormant), hitting a round figure does excite me. In Feb’21 I’ll be celebrating my 4th anniversary with WordPress. This place is something really close to my heart and I can’t thank you enough for all your love. Thank you for sticking by! You all have my heart!❤️
